THE DEW OF HERMON (Wednesday 26th August, 2015)

2 Kings 7:8-9
And when these lepers came to the uttermost part of the camp, they went into one tent, and did eat and drink, and carried thence silver, and gold, and raiment, and went and hid it; and came again, and entered into another tent, and carried thence also, and went and hid it.
Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king's household.
KJV

Lepers are the most disdained people in the society! Nobody wants to reckon with a leper! They are literarily outcasts of the society. Nobody associates wealth and riches with them. They cannot mingle with people freely so they cannot be anything valuable in the comity of human beings. But the same lepers, who are known to be beggars, God turned their situation around in a twinkle of an eye and they became good news carriers! All of a sudden they became rich in silver, gold, assorted raiment. The ones who used to beg to eat suddenly ate and drank and had enough to spare. Then said they to one another, “…..this day is a day of good tidings.” Hey! Someone’s day of good tidings is here at last. I don’t know how much the society has beaten and battered you, today, you are ushered into your era of good tidings. No matter how much they have looked down on you, a new you is coming out of that situation-victorious! Suddenly, the lepers (the outcasts of the society), found themselves in the king’s palace, telling the king’s house their good news. This is strange work and strange act of God! Friends, you shall not end as a mean man/woman but a king/queen. So shall it be! Jesus is LORD! SHALOM!
