THE DEW OF HERMON (Friday 29th January, 2016)

Eccl 9:4
For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.
KJV

There is this saying that, ‘if there is life there is hope’. This means once you are still alive you have hope but that is not completely true because we have a lot of hopeless individuals walking the streets. However the scripture way of hope is if you are joined to all the living. Those who are joined to the living God draw hope from Him who is the fullness that fills all things. No wonder the Bible says in Job 14:7-9 that “For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground; Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.” This means no matter how terrible things have been it takes only God to turn things around again. When you have the assurances of God you don’t  have to worry anymore because you have hope as it is written, “And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us” (Romans 5:5). So many of us have been praying and fasting since the year began and now the month of January is going to an end in a couple of days, keep your hope alive. Things must get better for you this year! You cannot continue the way you are, there is always room for things to get better. The scripture says “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise” Hebrews 10:35-36. Be confident that God will do even as He has promised! This year nothing will dip your hope in God and you shall have your expectations fulfilled! So shall it be in Jesus name! SHALOM!

THE DEW OF HERMON (Wednesday 27th January, 2016)

Rom 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
KJV

God specializes in turning situations around in the favour of His children! For example, He can work that disappointment to divine appointment; He can turn that sorrow into joy; He can turn your weakness to divine strength; He can work out that failure until it becomes success; He can work out delay to become delight. Therefore, no matter the situation that prevails around you now I want you to know that God is working out something in your favour. All those things will work together for your good if really you are a lover of God. That is why in Ezek 21:27 the Lord  says “I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him.” Stop sorrowing over what you cannot change. Cease to ponder over those lies told against you for which you are being hated, persecuted, despised by the ignorant and enemies. At the end God will vindicate you and they all will see that they have castigated you in your innocence. They all will realize their mistakes and will come begging you. The scripture says “And we know……..”, say to yourself, ‘now I know’. So shall it be! Amen! PEACE!

THE DEW OF HERMON (Monday 25th January, 2016)

Hosea 13:14
I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.
KJV

The devil and his cohorts specialize in burying people’s destinies! When your destiny is buried all you do in life will end up in futility! It is not uncommon for someone to be very hardworking but all his efforts amount to nothing at the end of the day. Such a person’s destiny is being controlled by the agents of darkness. Someone may be working like an elephant but eating little like rat. Everything he tries to do ends up a failure. The agents of darkness have buried his destiny! No wonder the scripture says in Isa 42:22 “But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore”. But the scripture before us today is proclaiming a reversal for you! Hallelujah! God in His infinite mercy has said He will ransom you from the grave! Wherever you have been hid, wherever your destiny has been shut up in the grave, today, you are coming out! The devil has lost the battle over your life, over your destiny, family, academics and your children finally. Your life has been the symbol of ‘struggle continues’ (aluta continua) but God will show up for you this year and you will have a change of story! An end has come to all your struggles in Jesus name! So shall it be! SHALOM!

THE DEW OF HERMON (Friday 22nd January, 2016)

1 Sam 30:8, 18-19
8 And David inquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
18 And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives.
19 And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor any thing that they had taken to them: David recovered all.
KJV

The scripture recorded in verse 4 that David and all the mighty warriors that went with him wept sore and fainted when they returned and saw the devastation done to them by the Amalekites. However, David reasoned within him to ask God what to do and God told him to pursue the troop, overtake and recover all. This reminds me of an event that took place many years ago when one of my elder brothers was in College of Agriculture, Yandev, near Gboko, Benue State, Nigeria. They just closed from the fellowship and were returning when a very strong mad man came straight for one of the sisters grabbed, threw her on the ground forcefully and about messing her up. Some of the brethren were shouting “Jesus, Jesus” while others started ‘blasting’ in tongues ‘po ko to ti ti ra ra bara bara’. My brother told them it was no time to shout Jesus and speaking in tongues but action time. In a swift moment he got hold of a big plank, hit the mad man on the back heavily and his madness disappeared, he ran away to nurse his injuries and they rescued the sister unhurt. Left for the tongue speaking brethren the mad man could have had his field day but for the intervention of the big stick! If David had continued weeping, he could weep forever for all the Amalekites cared, there would have been no recoveries! Many a times you would not have suffered loss, many a times your blessings would not have been hanging if only you know God has answered already and all that is required was a little action of ‘pursue then overtake and recovery’! Don’t take action without praying and don’t pray without taking action! This year ask God what action(s) to take to compliment your prayers and you shall recover all! So shall it be in Jesus name! SHALOM!

THE DEW OF HERMON (Wednesday 20th January, 2016)

Isaiah 60:1-3
Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
KJV

Without any doubt, light is synonymous with glory! You cannot have light and not radiate in glory and there is no light without glory (1 Cor 15:41). The evidence of the supremacy of light over darkness is that light shines and darkness can do nothing about it! If it is not shining then it is not light! If darkness is challenging it and it cowardly goes out it is not light! But the scripture is very clear “your light has come, arise, shine and radiate in glory”. Others may be languishing in darkness and gross darkness but without apology, you are to shine! And because of the glory of God that shall come upon you, your family, business, career, academics, health etc, the gentiles shall come to you and your brightness shall attract kings (people in high places shall seek for you). You will soon become a man/woman nicknamed “sought out” (Isaiah 62:12). Light, any day any time, has command over darkness! You will soon be in charge of the happenings around you because light (the glory of God) will put you in charge. Light does not bother about darkness, it is the other way round, therefore, anyone or group of persons waiting to see you in shame shall wait till eternity! The last humiliation of shame is the last you will ever suffer, no more shame, no more embarrassment, no more humiliation! It is your turn at last to show forth God’s glory therefore, arise, shine! SHALOM!

THE DEW OF HERMON (Monday 18th January, 2016)

Ephesians 3:20
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
KJV

The scripture above shows me the greatest superlative I’ve ever seen in English language! What a grammar! Superlative means to give the highest degree of expression on a thing! God in an attempt to make us see the ingenuity of His power and intentions to answer our prayers, presented it in the superlative above. The superlative  “…exceeding abundantly above all….” reveals God’s ability to go beyond whatever your request may be. God’s resources to meet our needs is as far as the heaven from the earth. God is so limitless that He can swallow all our limitedness! God is so high, so wide and so deep that our needs are ever insignificant with Him. The infinite God is well able to take on all your infinitesimal needs! With this God has shown that your requests cannot intimidate Him. No one’s problem is too big to rumble God. Your situation cannot confuse God! How long you have been in that challenge does not matter with Him, He is the Ancient of days. God will not answer only what we ask but also what we imagine. What are you imagining concerning your future, business, family, academic, He will surely do exceeding abundantly above all! He knows your end from your beginning! Get ready for exceeding- abundantly-above-all blessings. So shall it be! PEACE!

THE DEW OF HERMON (Friday 15th January, 2016)

Heb 4:15-16
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
KJV

Children are not supposed to be afraid of their parents except they offend them! A child is expected to come boldly to his/her parents at all times. But sin (offence) makes you and me to be afraid of coming close to our parents for fear of punishment. As it is with our earthly parents so it is with God! But if we have returned and genuinely repented like that prodigal son and as contained in 1 John 1:9, then let us come boldly to God our father. The devil may be reminding you of what happened yesterday, he may be reminding you of how unfit you are to call unto God because of that abortion you did 3 years ago or that figure you changed in your place of work or those lies you told to cover up, do not listen to him! Tell satan to get lost and come boldly to God and make your request known. All over in the Christendom prayer and fasting is going on for the year 2016, do not allow the devil to intimidate you, settle your issues with God! You are not accountable to any man as no man is responsible for your life but you and you alone! Take responsibility for your life and prepare yourself for the future in this ongoing prayer and fasting. It is time to seek the LORD! Your prayer and fasting this year shall not be in vain (Isa. 65:23-24). Amen! So shall it be in Jesus name! SHALOM!

THE DEW OF HERMON (Wednesday 13th January, 2016)

1 John 1:8-9
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
KJV

We were once told a story of a young boy while playing around mistakenly fired a stone form his catapult and hit his father’s duck on the head that it died! His name was Tom! His brother saw this when it happened but agreed with him to conceal the crime so he was happy because he never wanted his father to punish him. However, as days went by, whenever it was food time he would ask Tom to give him part of his food but Tom will hesitate then he will say “Tom, remember the duck” and Tom will cowered in and give him part of his food. This continued for so long and Tom became tired. One faithful afternoon (while his brother was away), he went to his father, knelt down and confessed he was the one that killed the duck and asked for his father’s forgiveness. The father, surprisingly, did not even scold him, he only told him to be more careful next time. To Tom, the heavy burden has been lifted! When it was time for food later that day his brother came demanding as usual but he refused. He reminded Tom of the duck but Tom retorted, “and so what?” He threatened to tell their father and Tom agreed. He ran to the man and reported it was Tom that killed the duck but his father said, “he has told me that earlier and I have forgiven him”. Friends, if you can go to God for that issue the devil has been reminding you of and genuinely repent, the faithful God will free your heart and mind from that harassment of the devil. God is your father He will abundantly forgive! SHALOM!

THE DEW OF HERMON (Friday 8th January, 2016)

Zech 10:1
Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.
KJV

The LORD has promised you great things! He has also promised you the rain, the former and the latter rain in the first month (Joel 2:21-24), but it can only happen if you ask! That God has made promises to you is not enough for you to access the promises unless you consciously take your time to ask what belongs to you. Life does not always deliver to you what you deserve but what you demand. Place a demand on your money in the bank for withdrawal for instance, and you will be attended to by the cashier. In John 16:24 Jesus told His disciples “Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full”. Whereas God wants to answer your prayers in other that your joy may be full, you must first of all ask in prayer. That is why the scripture above is saying you must ask! It doesn’t matter if your clouds look dry, the LORD shall make bright clouds and shall pour out upon you the rain of blessings. As we begin the year 2016 please, it’s no time to play around, it is time to pray around. This year you will not miss your portion! As you ask you will receive! So shall it be in Jesus name! SHALOM!

THE DEW OF HERMON (Monday 4th January, 2016)

Joel 2:21-22
Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things.
22 Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength.
KJV

The beginning of the year has always been characterized with fear of how to cope with financial crunch after the festivities at the end of the previous year. People care so much about how to pay bills, send children to school and so many other things that beg for one’s attention financially. Whatever may be your situation, God is set to do great things and that include your finances. “Fear not, rejoice” is God’s admonition to you this day! Be not afraid, for your pastures will spring and your tree will bear fruit, you shall have wine to celebrate. What all these mean is that, beginning from today, you shall have no scarceness around you. You will pay your bills, your children will return to school without the fear of where their school fees will come from. Every day of this year you shall have enough of all things including money! Fear not, the LORD will do great things and that will include your own things in Jesus name. Do it LORD! So shall it be! PEACE!
