THE DEW OF HERMON (Monday 14th December,
2015)
Lam 3:22-23
It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his
compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
KJV
Those who walk in their self-righteousness do
not acknowledge the mercies of God! Such is the case with those who look at
others as sinners while they feel they are born righteous! In Luke 18:10-14
Jesus gave an illustration of someone living in deceit of self-righteousness
and its dangers. We made it so far this year against all odds because of God’s
mercy! Sleeping and waking up is not as easy and simple as some think. There were
people that went to bed last night but are no more today. There were even some
that, while having siesta, never woke up again. No wonder David said. “I laid
me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me” Ps 3:5. No one can say
he merited anything from God, including life, but for His mercy. We that the
devil would have destroyed long ago are still alive and well. We that the
accuser of the brethren (the devil) could accuse of so many wrong doings yet
God said He will not destroy us because of His mercies according as it is
written Rom 9:15-16 ”For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will
have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then
it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth
mercy”. Brethren, let us return to the mercy seat (Lev. 16:2)! Why not you say “Lord,
thank you for your mercy”. God’s mercies have brought us thus far, He will
sustain us to the end! So shall it be in Jesus name! PEACE!
